| Jordan is a perfect base for wine touring in the Bench area of Ontario’s Wine Region. Click here for access to the Wine Council of Ontario’s excellent website… their map is the best for planning a wine tour. Immediately local are the twenty or so wineries of The Twenty Valley Tourism Association.
If you are interested in Niagara’s unparalleled natural beauty, consider accessing the Bruce Trail, about a ten-minute walk away. Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority maintains a beautiful park at Ball’s Falls, which is similarly a fifteen-minute walk or a five-minute drive away. There is a historic house and a functioning grist mill at this site too. Jordan is a half-hour drive to Niagara Falls with its casinos, parks, events and of course, the magnificent falls and Niagara River. It’s just half an hour to Niagara-on-the-Lake where the renowned Shaw Festival focuses on turn of the century works. There are lots of shops and galleries as well as historic homes and public buildings.
There are a number of historic forts along the Niagara Frontier: visit Niagara Park's for more information. There are often historic recreations and presentations at these sites.
Finally, heading in the opposite direction, we strongly recommend the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington and Dundurn Castle in Hamilton.
